WONK

Founded in 2004, Wonk specializes in modern home and office furnishings that combine functionality with design.

ATLAS INDUSTRIES

A favorite of ours (and many others) is Atlas Industries. Fashioned from walnut, white oak, or maple shelving and heavy cold-rolled steel supports, the systems are solid and stylish (and portable, if you move). This is an investment piece that is not cheap, but can move with you and will last a lifetime. The Brooklyn-based fabricator offers options such as floor-based mounting, custom finishes, and pick-and-choose components. The website’s clever Builder Feature allows you to custom configure a system to fit your space and needs. Go to Atlas to view products. The 5-by-8-foot configuration shown below is $1,186 per linear foot, or approximately $6,722.
