Emeryville, CA-based architect Jerome Buttrick designed this kitchen in Lyme, CT, almost a decade ago, and it still looks of the moment. Countertops are mahogany with McCloskey bartop varnish; the substantial mahogany windows are custom made by Woodstone Architectural Windows & Doors in Vermont, and floors are wide plank oak. The refrigerator is cleverly concealed behind the sliding pocket door leading to the pantry, and most storage is undercounter.
