Founded by Arthur Andersson and F. Christian Wise in 2001, Austin, Texas-based Andersson Wise creates some of the more inventive Western dwellings we’ve come across. Below is a trio of waterfront houses by the firm, each offering a different (and equally compelling) architectural approach to lakeside living.
Above: Stone Creek Camp in Bigfork, Montana, is located on Flathead Lake.
Above: Stone and stacked-log walls harmonize in the kitchen space.
Above: Sleek stainless steel counters, shelves, and integrated sink contrast with a rustic stone wall.
Above: An industrial light fixture provides kitchen illumination.
Above: Exterior walls fashioned of stacked wood in steel frames.
Above: The Tower House in Austin, Texas, is located on Lake Travis.
Above: An open-air kitchen is located on the top floor, offering a view over the lake.
Above: A modest cabin on Flathead Lake in Polson, Montana, offers a refuge from modern life.
