Appliances: Pro Plus Range from Aga

November 1, 2010

Yesterday's Architect Visit: Steven Harris at 54 Bond Street features an updated version of the classic British Aga, which prompted us to revisit the Pro+ Range. The appeal of the five-burner, self-cleaning Aga Pro+ Range lies in its large oven, which measures 4.9 cubic feet; however, when a smaller oven is required, you can divide the oven with an Energy Saving Panel. The center panel reduces the oven size to a more modest 2.4 cubic feet; one side functions fully as an oven, while the other can be used for heating plates. Available in in five colors: black, cranberry, ivory, white, and stainless steel (with removable energy-saving panel included) for $4,399 from Ira Woods.

Above: When in place, the Energy Saving Panel converts the full 4.9-cubic-foot oven to compact mode, creating a fully functioning 2.4-cubic-foot oven with seven cooking functions.
