Recently debuted at the Salone del Mobile in Milan: the Mía rug by Spanish designer Nani Marquina. The flat-weave wool rug is Marquina’s take on the traditional Indian dhurrie, made of three individual mats loomed by hand in India and sewn together for a lived-in effect. Each rug is made to order and can be configured in a variety of combinations: choose from two sizes, four base colors, and several finishing details like fringe or contrast stitching. The rug is available from Nani Marquina showrooms in Barcelona and NYC and other retailers around the world.
Mía rugs are available in two sizes: 170 by 240 cm (roughly 5 by 8 foot) and 200 by 300 cm (roughly 7 by 10 foot), priced at $2,087 and $3,069, respectively. Once the rug is configured online, it is manufactured and delivered in three to four weeks.For more from the Iberian Peninsula, see:
