Maria Milans del Bosch founded Maria Milans Studio (MMIS) in 2012, an international award-winning architecture and design firm based in New York and Madrid.
Maria’s work is distinguished by a constant search for timeless design and architecture that creates compelling form and cultural significance through her pursuit of a language of materiality and its optimized expression. She has a quasi-artisanal approach to architecture from drawings to models to on-site craftsmanship.
As her practice develops, the projects are diverse in geography, program and scale. They range from ephemeral installations and renovations to ground up buildings and urban master plans. Each project balances artistry and function, experimentation and flawless execution. At MMIS a project is an entity on its own, finely crafted, perfectly produced and, at the same time, coherent with Maria’s line of thought.
