Wowee.., we just scored a bunch of these gorgeous, soft, thick, wool blankets from the German Bund. This batch, all newly laundered, were made by Zöppritz AG in 1987. The color is a rich grey-brown, 100% virgin wool, measuring about 75” x 48”, with the letters “BUND” woven through. What makes these special, and perhaps even better than the recent Swedish blankets, is that the edges are bound in bias-tape, all the way around. That gives a very clean finish. Of course they have Motten u. Käferausrüstung, meaning: permanently moth-and critter proofed. Each of these beauties weighs about 4.3 lbs. The perfect single bed size.
