i want this. but shipping to US is 60 pounds!!! where can this or something similar be had in US ? probably could easily make, too?

You can easily make this item. Home depot/Lowes sells precut pieces of wood for the base and dowels for the vertical shaft. Adhere the pieces together with wood glue and you are done. Should cost no more than a couple dollars. Also I presume if you check out your local home store like Target or BB&B they would have something similar.
