In the aquarium-chic interiors of the new John Dory Oyster Bar at the Ace Hotel New York, Romans & Williams used inexpensive black ceramic tiles from Daltile with white grout (a reverse of the white-tile-dark-grout strategy the firm used in the hotel's bathrooms), creating a glossy backdrop for lighting sconces made from oversize seashells.
