Discovered via the Contemporist: the soon-to-open Hotel Michelberger in Berlin, located next to the Oberbaum Bridge and the river Spree. Founded by Tom Michelberger, a 31-year-old from southern Germany, along with a group of friends, the Hotel Michelberger offers high design at low prices, with rates starting at €59 per night. Designed by Werner Aisslinger, the modular rooms are models of efficiency; we especially like the wood shelving systems for the TV and the sink platforms.
