Growing up in an eccentric family of dairy farmers on Long Island and a small clan of renowned designers, photographers and artists in Manhattan propelled Jamie to study art and architecture in New Orleans and in Venice, Italy with a strong focus on an organic modernism and the natural world.

Recognized for his ability to blur the lines between architecture and interior design, his ethos has always been to approach the design of a space as one holistic vision, mixing period and contemporary furnishings with a fresh and discriminating eye.  Jamie’s designs have been featured in over 70 publications worldwide including Architectural Digest, Interior Design, Vogue, Elle Decor, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times as well as several coffee table books.  In 2017 Jamie was appointed to the Tulane School of Architecture Board of Advisors and was most recently honored into the 2019 and 2020 AD 100 top global architects and designers of the year, as well as Elle Decor’s  A-List of top designers for 2019.

He splits his time between Los Angeles and his houseboat on Long Island close to his family.

Beverly Hills Estate

Located in the Trousdale Estates section of Beverly Hills, this mid-century home was completely redesigned in collaboration with Dennis Gibbens Architects. Houston Mid-Century

This mid-century modern, colonnaded pavilion is located in the prestigious River Oaks neighborhood of Houston, Texas. Originally designed by Neuhaus & Taylor in 1963, the new owners of the home sought Jamie Bush + Co. to completely redesign the interior. A blend of warm wood tones, textural custom designed furniture, vintage pieces, and repeating circular shapes throughout softened the stark architecture of the home, creating a welcoming environment for the young family of four.

Silvertop

John Lautner’s 1957 biomorphic masterpiece sits high in the hills overlooking the Silverlake Reservoir in Los Angeles. This sprawling innovative home was the first of many technologically advanced design elements including the first infinity edge pool, automatic and retractable walls and ceilings, home automation, and passive heating, all driven by the inventor Kenneth Reiner. This historic home was sensitively restored and updated in collaboration with Bestor Architects for the CEO of BEATS, Luke Wood, and his young family.

Butterfly House

This mid-century icon perched on the bluffs of Carmel by the Sea was originally designed by Frank Wynkoop in 1950. After years of unremarkable renovations we completed a total restoration with major upgrades to bring this historic home back to its organic roots. Newly lined with wire brushed teak, hand-molded brick and rustic stone, the home now evokes the rugged shoreline and dramatic natural setting by which it was originally inspired.

San FranciscoTownhouse

A four story modern townhome set in the rolling hillside neighborhood of Noe Valley in the heart of San Francisco. Built for a young tech pioneer, the design is a playful combination of surrealist compositions of modern art and objects, eclectic vintage finds, and custom designs specifically for this home. Fresh colors, natural finishes, and organic shapes throughout identify these spaces as quintessentially ‘California Modern’.
